We’ve been married now for almost three months – how crazy is that! I can’t help but smile when I look through these pictures. They bring back such joyous memories that I’ll never forget. I thought I’d share just a few of my favorite moments from our wedding.
At the beginning, I was reluctant to do a first look. I always wanted Garrett to first see me when the doors opened during the ceremony and I walked down the aisle. However, because our wedding started at 7:30p, we wouldn’t have been able to get all our pictures done after the ceremony.
Luckily, our first look was a blessing in disguise. Leading up to our first look, I was so frustrated with things not going as planned. When Garrett held me, the evening took a turn for the better. Rather than being focussed on making sure everything was perfect, he reminded me of how excited I was to marry him. It was that moment in which it hit me, “I get to marry my best friend today.”
My favorite part of our wedding was the sermon. Garrett’s dad did our ceremony and it was absolutely perfect! The waterworks were flowing.
I am so thankful Garrett and I faced his dad while he was speaking. I was able to listen and react to his words without have to worry about what I looked liked [I was a mess]. I didn’t think about anything else – it was just the two of us up there and we were becoming one.
Leading up to the wedding, there were so many details to plan. I quickly learned that all the decisions I made and decorations I chose were for the guests to enjoy. I was too busy enjoying fellowship and friendships during the reception to notice.
However, the mother-son dance was my chance to soak in the views and enjoy all the hard work I put in. All night I had forgotten about the things that I spent so much time planning. Now, I was able to enjoy the centerpieces that seemed to be the only thing that mattered in my life in April. I was able to enjoy the cake arrangement that I spent too much time figuring out. Even more than that, I was able to look around and see all our family and friends just smiling and laughing together. It was my couple minutes to soak in the evening, take a deep breath and smile.
Here are some of our favorite pictures from our wedding day! Enjoy!
My friend, Christina Gray, was the videographer for our wedding and did a phenomenal job! She truly captured all the emotions and excitement of the evening!
